Sharing Sundays

Each sunday I will be trying to share some of the articles, links or blog posts I have come across in the previous week.

My Categories this week: Life, Love & Laughter

Life:

One of my sisters found this article in the New York Times that talks about The Joy of Quiet by Pico Iyer. Fantastic insight – my favorite part: “wiser souls have always reminded us that the more attention we pay to the moment, the less time and energy we have to place it in some larger context.”

From Free Your Parenting: “there are three different things you can choose to do with your power as an adult, and those three things affect how you relate to other adults, they affect how nourishing or harmful your relationships are…” How do you use your power?

Love:

We love our children so much – it’s hard to watch them hurt or be dissapointed, but feeling sad, angry, mad is just as important for leading healthy lives as happiness and joy…in The 5 building blocks to Raising Resilient Children Bonnie Harris talks about exactly this and how to support a child when she is dissapointed.

Laughter:

Parenting Illustrated by Crappy Picutres is a really funny site with all sorts of funny accounts of parenting. This one  is a favorite of mine: what it is like to (not) sleep at night.
